Let's Talk About Technical Analysis

Katie Stockton, Managing Partner at Fairlead Strategies, walks me through how she pairs technical analysis (TA) with fundamental analysis (FA) - leading to outsized returns.

Worlds Collide: Fundamental & Technical Analysis

Hi everyone - I’ll keep this short as I think the video speaks for itself.

Katie Stockton is a tenured investor with plenty of experience on both sides of the fundamental and technical analysis equation. Long story short, after Katie uses fundamental analysis - like us - to identify a promising company to invest toward, she uses tools such as moving averages and price momentum to help her find the best possible price to open a position.

I’ve always been pretty skeptical about technical analysis and I think trading using technical analysis alone is quite dangerous. But, pairing the long-term mentality of fundamental analysis with the short-term mentality of technical price analysis seems to be a winning strategy.

An Idea:

Here’s the deal - I love conducting fundamental analysis and long-form written research for you all. But, if you all would like to see these two worlds collide - pairing my long-form research with short-term price action analysis through Katie - let me know.

I’m still relatively new to that side of the world, having leaned on thorough fundamental analysis for year. However, I know there are veterans out there - like Katie - who crush it. Going forward, once a month we’re going to try to begin pairing my Favorite Stock Ideas with some technical analysis in efforts to give you all a more clearly-painted picture of where the stock could be headed.

If you have questions about technical analysis for Katie that were not answered during that video, let me know and we’ll host a public livestream giving you all the chance to ask anything you’d like!

Thanks again, Katie, for joining me!
