Something Exciting!
We're #1 on the charts..
Happy Wednesday!
A few months ago, a loyal Rate of Return subscriber emailed me asking to audition for the co-hosting position of a custom podcast he was working on at iHeartRadio.
After a few interviews, I got the co-hosting position and we were off to the races — quickly researching, scripting, and recording a handful of episodes!
On Thursday (3/30), Mind the Business: Small Business Success Stories made its public debut — our first episode was an interview with Sika Health’s founder and CEO, Ami Kumordzie.
Today, less than a week later, Mind the Business topped the Apple Podcast charts in the Business category!
The podcast is incredible — the team at iHeartRadio did such a great job tee’ing up Jannese Torres and I for success. I can’t say enough about this team, they’re so good at what they do!
As you all know, I co-host the Rich Habits Podcast every Monday alongside my friend Robert Croak. That’s not going away, and we’re slowly but surely climbing the charts over there.
However, I can’t contain my excitement about the early momentum Mind the Business has seen — and want to share that success with all of you.
We did this!
I know there are thousands of you reading right now who remember the Patreon days back in 2020, the migration to Substack in 2021, the consistency of 2022 — and should now feel a sense of accomplishment as we top the charts together in 2023!
Without your ongoing support and attention, this wouldn’t have been possible.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Austin :)

Episode 1:
In business, you have to spend money to make money. But you also have to have money to spend it.
Hosts Austin and Jannese discuss how to decide which type of funding makes sense for your small business and explain the differences between angel investors, VC funding, crowdfunding, small business loans, and grants.
