UKRAINE: Invades Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin promised a "worthy response" to Ukraine's escalating invasion of Russian territory. On Monday, 11,000 more people were evacuated from the Belgorod region as tensions intensified. Belgorod's Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported "enemy activity" at the border, prompting evacuations.

The Ukrainian invasion of the Kursk region began last Tuesday, involving around 1,000 troops, tanks, and armored vehicles. Moscow has had to redeploy forces to counter this invasion, disrupting Russia’s summer offensive in eastern Ukraine. Despite Russian claims of repelling the attack, Ukrainian forces have reportedly advanced up to 35 kilometers inside Russia.

ADANI: Under Pressure
Shares of Adani Group companies fell on Monday following a report by U.S. short-seller Hindenburg. The report accused the chair of India’s capital markets regulator, Madhabi Puri Buch, of conflicts of interest and preventing a thorough investigation into fraud claims.

Adani Group's market value dropped by about $2.4 billion, recovering from an earlier loss of up to $13.4 billion. Key firms like Adani Enterprises, Adani Total Gas, and Adani Power saw sharp declines. Hindenburg's report claimed Buch and her husband had ties to offshore funds linked to Adani. Both denied any wrongdoing, and Adani dismissed the allegations as baseless.

Former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, a key early Google employee, has passed away at 56 after battling non-small cell lung cancer for two years. Her husband, Dennis Troper, and Google CEO Sundar Pichai shared the news on Friday night.

Wojcicki, one of the few women to lead a major Silicon Valley tech company, guided YouTube for nearly a decade and was instrumental in Google’s early growth. She played a key role in developing Google’s ad business and advocating for the $1.65 billion acquisition of YouTube. Her death has sparked widespread condolences across the tech community.
